Voices of Tomorrow: “A Battle of Wits and Words”
Chanderbala Modi Academy places great importance on debate as an academic activity that offers students a creative platform to articulate their thoughts and opinions. The insights gained from such events are invaluable for their personal and intellectual growth.
On 30th August 2024, the academy proudly hosted the Inter School Freedom Cup Debate Competition for students in classes IX to XII in the Multi-Purpose Activity Hall. The esteemed judges for the event were Ms. Nikita Vyas, Mr. Kaushal Adhvaryu, and the school’s Vice Principal, Ms. Rosy Mehta.
The topic for the debate was “Repeated Olympic Failures by India Highlight the Lack of Talent to Emerge as a True Sports Nation.” Participants included P.P. Savani School, Shree Vasishtha Vidhyalaya, Sanatan International Academy, Public School Kharod, Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir, and the host school, Chanderbala Modi Academy. Each team demonstrated exceptional preparation, supported by in-depth research. They engaged in intense discussions, constantly refining and honing their speeches.
The participants displayed remarkable passion and preparation, presenting their views convincingly. They supported their arguments with well-researched statistics and data, enhancing their delivery with expressive facial expressions and effective voice modulation. The speakers showcased exceptional oratory skills, making the competition an enthralling experience for both the speakers and the audience.
The Freedom Cup Trophy was awarded to the winning school- P.P. Savani School. Trophies and certificates were presented to outstanding participants in three key categories: Best Speaker -For the Motion, Best Speaker -Against the Motion, and Best Speaker -Rapid Reflection Round. These accolades recognized not only their eloquence and persuasive abilities but also their quick thinking and sharp analytical skills.
Ms. Nikita Vyas, as the esteemed judge, shared her insightful perspectives and commended the participants for their dedication and hard work. She extended her best wishes for their future endeavors. Mr. Kaushal Adhvaryu, serving as the second judge, acknowledged and appreciated the hard work of each participant.
Ms. Rosy Mehta, Vice Principal and one of the judges, addressed the gathering, offering words of encouragement to each participant and expressing her deep appreciation for their efforts.
Mr. Ramjee Nagarajan, Principal of Chanderbala Modi Academy, expressed his gratitude to the participating schools and provided insightful feedback to the students. He confidently assured that each participant has the potential to become a skilled orator and offered specific feedback to each of the schools involved.
The event was seamlessly organized by the English Department, the IT Department, who created excellent PowerPoint slides, and the Event Management Committee. The event concluded with a heartfelt thank you note, extending gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success.
