6th September, 2024

The curtains drew open to reveal a vibrant spectacle! As part of the special assembly series at Chanderbala Modi Academy, Nehru House was proud to present its vibrant celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. With meticulous planning and enthusiastic preparation, the students and teachers of Nehru House crafted a spectacular program on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi that delighted, inspired, and left a lasting impression on everyone.

On this joyous journey, filled with music, dance, and devotion, Nehru House paid tribute to the beloved elephant-headed deity, Lord Ganesha as they brought to life the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The assembly was smoothly compered by Aryan Nair and Prince Saxena, students of class XI, who guided the entire program from beginning to end through their conversational style of anchoring. It began with the recitation of the Ganpati shloka and its explanation by Vidit Ladha and Krisha Modi of class VI.

The program commenced with the auspicious installation of Lord Ganpati, led by Dilip Trivedi Sir, accompanied by the coordinators and teachers of Nehru House. This was followed by the Ganpati aarti. The air was filled with the chanting of “Ganpati Bappa Moriya,” creating a sense of deep devotion to Lord Ganesha that everyone could feel.

The students of Nehru House presented souvenirs of Lord Ganesha, along with goodies, to Vice Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Rosy Mehta, and the coordinators, as a gesture of devotion and blessings.

The assembly was then followed by the word of the day- ‘Vighnaharta’ by Yana Navapara of class VI and thought of the day was presented by Arya Ribadiya of class VI who shared with us the values and principles of Lord Ganesha to be followed in our lives. Jalashree Mehta of class XI shared about the enlarged body parts of Lord Ganesha and what they symbolise.

A short skit was presented, where the grandfather, grandmother, and grandson, who were students of grade seven, enacted a conversation about the famous mythological story of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Kartikeya, and Ganesh. The curious grandson asked his grandparents to narrate the story. The story of Lord Shiva, goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya Lord Ganesha’s wives, Riddhi and Sidhhi, everything was presented once again

very minutely through a captivating skit. The audience’s hearts were once again captured by the students’ talent and enthusiasm.

A group song, “Gananayakaya ganadaivataya Ganadhyakshaya dheemahi,” was beautifully presented by students of classes four and five, followed by a graceful group dance performance based on the devotional verses in praise of the deity

The assembly concluded with an emotional immersion of the eco-friendly Lord Ganesha made of clay, as everyone bid farewell to their beloved deity with a promise to reunite next year. Vice Principal, Mrs. Rosy Mehta, addressed the assembly, praising the students’ efforts and dedication. The celebration ended with the National Anthem, followed by the distribution of prasad to students and staff, bringing the special assembly to a peaceful and fulfilling close.
